Key instructions for burning beeswax candles:

Trim the wick:

Before lighting, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch to prevent excessive flame and soot buildup.
Burn in a draft-free area:

Place the candle on a stable surface away from drafts, open windows, and air vents to ensure even burning.
First burn is important:

Allow the first burn to melt the wax pool across the entire top of the candle to prevent "tunneling" where only the center burns.
Extinguish properly:
Blow out the flame gently or use a candle snuffer.
Beeswax candles may take longer to light for the first time and they may need to be held upside down to allow the wax to run away from the wick before it will successfully light.

Safety tips:

Never leave unattended: Always extinguish a candle when you leave a room or go to sleep.
Keep away from flammable materials: Place the candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from curtains, paper, and other flammable items.
Child and pet safety: Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
Candle holder usage: Use a candle holder appropriate for the candle size to prevent spills and accidents.
Be aware of flickering flames: If the flame flickers excessively, check for drafts and adjust the candle placement.
Do not move a burning candle: Let the candle cool completely before moving it to prevent spills or accidents.

Pillar Candle Safety & Care

The rule of thumb to burn a candle is comparable to the diameter of the candle. For each inch of diameter of the candle you burn equivalent hours each time you light it. (2 inch diameter=2 hour burn, 3 inch diameter=3 hour burn, etc). This helps ensure the best burn time and to avoid excessive pooling or tunneling. For best results, do not burn over 4 hours. Burning any pillars in a container will cause them to burn improperly. As the pillar candle burns, lightly push in the warm wax on the sides of the candle so that it will melt, lengthening the burn time of your candle. Remove labels before burning.
